There are many ways to get involved. From giving your time to the Hillcrest Community Resource Center in Asheville to Blissful Gardens in Marshall, we have many awesome and rewarding volunteer opportunities for you.

Hillcrest Community Resource Center: Computer Lab and Community Support

Our Community Resource Center (CRC) is located in the Hillcrest public housing community near downtown Asheville. The CRC is open Monday – Thursday between the hours of 10am and 2pm. Volunteers would be helping by signing up for a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 4 hours per day. The following are examples of the opportunities: Assisting with employment (resume building, targeted online job searching, setting up email accounts, attaching resumes) and childcare (for the residents using the Computer Lab.)

Blissful Gardens

As a volunteer, you would be able to help keep the gardens looking beautiful and bountiful! You can help every day or once a week, weeding and weedwacking, tilling and planting, mulching and harvesting and more! We need fences rebuilt or secured and help making beautifications to the land. We also have a greenhouse that we use year round and could use help keeping it beautiful and bountiful, and working at its upmost efficiency.

Please contact Nikita at nikita@wwd-f.org to sign up to volunteer with one or more of these awesome programs. We hope to hear from you soon and get you involved helping an organization enrich and empower our community and give back to people of all ages!

Thank you.
